During her campaign, Jennifer consistently heard three concerns from residents. Affordability was the first, followed closely by housing affordability and community safety. These issues came up repeatedly at the door and continue to shape her priorities today.
Khurram added context by sharing concerns from local residents and business owners about theft, break ins and vehicle crimes that were once rare in Ajax. Jennifer acknowledged the frustration and explained that addressing safety requires coordination across federal, provincial and municipal levels. She emphasized the importance of efficient court systems, stronger consequences and ensuring cases move forward without unnecessary delays.
The Reality of Work Life Balance in Politics
Jennifer spoke candidly about work life balance, describing it as an ongoing challenge rather than a fixed achievement. She shared how commuting to Ottawa required adjustment, but she has built a routine that allows her to use travel time productively.
